HOW LITTLE LEARNERS LEARN ✦

Little minds. Big discoveries.

Children learn by doing, wondering, talking and trying again. We make room for playful exploration while thoughtfully supporting the skills each child is developing.

Hands-on discovery

Play with purpose

Children explore ideas through meaningful activities.

Learn as individuals

We pay attention to each child's stage and interests.

Grow every day

Small steps build confidence and independence.

OUR LEARNING APPROACH

Structure to guide us. Curiosity to lead us.

Our approach is guided by the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), complemented by Montessori-style learning experiences. Together, they help us plan for children’s development while leaving space for questions, exploration and individual interests.

Children learn in different ways. We use observation and thoughtful planning to understand what a child is ready to practise next, then offer experiences that help them make progress.

MONTESSORI-STYLE EXPERIENCES

Little hands. Real discoveries.

Montessori-style experiences encourage children to practise skills, make choices and engage with materials in a hands-on way. With suitable guidance, children can build concentration, coordination and independence while learning at their own pace.

Practical life

Everyday tasks that encourage coordination and independence.

Sensorial exploration

Noticing differences in texture, size, sound, shape and other qualities.

Early maths and language

Using materials, conversation and repetition to explore early concepts.

Culture and creativity

Exploring the world and expressing ideas through purposeful activities.

WHAT LEARNING CAN LOOK LIKE

Big learning hides in little moments.

A familiar activity can become a rich learning experience when children have time to explore, make choices and talk about what they notice.

Moving with confidence

Active play gives children opportunities to practise balance, coordination, body awareness and taking turns.

Talking and listening

Stories, conversations and shared activities help children communicate ideas, listen to others and build relationships.

Finding out about the world

Questions about people, places and nature can lead to observation, discussion and new discoveries.

EVERY CHILD'S LEARNING JOURNEY

Not a race.
A journey of growth.

Montessori-style experiences encourage children to practise skills, make choices and engage with materials in a hands-on way. With suitable guidance, children can build concentration, coordination and independence while learning at their own pace.

Notice
Observe children's interests, confidence, and emerging skills.
Plan
Offer activities and support that connect with their next steps.
Reflect together
Share observations with families and recognise each child's progress.
LEARNING WORKS BEST TOGETHER

Families are part of the learning team.

When home and school share observations, questions and achievements, children benefit from a more connected experience. We welcome conversations with parents and caregivers about each child’s development.
